Why can’t I get invited to things like this?  I probably should get around to building that runway in my living room…

KID CREOLE AND THE COCONUTS - My Male Curiosity

An 80s big band with timpani and singing backup dancers.  This song has been on repeat all weekend.

LA/Boston tio MIRRORLADY, captures catchy melodies and infectious drum beats with their lo-fi charm perfected by producer Will Lakritz in their third single.  Be sure to keep your eyes on these guys in the future.

NOAH KITTINGEr’s Toys Ep is a candid, refined EXCURSION into bedroom pop.  Relaxed guitar loops, washed out claps, vocals REMINISCENT of youth lagoon and introspective confidence similar to UK’s Badly Drawn boy, the EP is worth a listen from start to finish.

Chloë Sunshine’s single Hold Me, is a indie rock gem.  Lyrics of a lost love, washed out guitars full of melancholy and a lo-fi drum machine fits perfect with Lauren Santorio’s sentimental found footage of the sunny 1950s. Chloë recorded the track in the fall of 2011 at our studios, and is making plans for a follow up ep.

MMXII

Created out of a fascination for the DIY music phenomenon of Boston and the surrounding areas. The purpose of this blog is to keep a temperature of this year’s art and music movements in the region.

This past August, we caught up with Jeremy Lee Given from ABADABAD for a rework of their early summer anthem, Park Slope (I’m Sorry). The video was shot in an afternoon at Dirty Water Sound in Charlestown, MA. ABADABAD will be releasing their debut Watermelon Death Safari later this year.
